New Resident Evil 6 Content Set For Later This Month

Capcom has revealed that new add-on content for Resident Evil 6 will be available on December 18th as a timed console exclusive for Xbox 360. The new DLC will feature three new multiplayer modes: Predator, Survivors, and Onslaught and each with be available to buy individually or as a bundle.

The new Predator mode will be available for 2-6 players, with one player taking on the role of Ustanak and their job will be to eliminate the human players. Everyone’s else job is to stop the deadly B.O.W Ustanak or at least stay alive long enough to see the end of the game.

Survivors will again be available for 2-6 players and this mode sees the classic solo and team-based versus mode get a new revamp. Once you die, you will respawn as an enemy character, with the ability to take-down your fleshy counterparts. To become human again you have to, wait for it…kill a human. The last team or man standing are the winners here, hence the name Survivors.

The Onslaught mode will be available for 2 players who will go at it in an head-to-head attempt to clear a wave of enemies. The use of the chaining combo is the key feature here as its use will see your enemies whip over to the other person’s screen. In other words, the more enemies you send over the faster you can call yourself the victor.

For PlayStation 3 owners, the news that the new DLC will not be available to the console right away, which undoubtedly be cause for disappointment among Resident Evil 6 owners. However, Capcom aren’t leaving the PS3 world out entirely as they have also revealed that a new and free update for the game will be available on December 17th, for both the Xbox and PS3 consoles.

The update is set to be of a sizeable proportion and it will feature the very challenging No Hope Left difficulty mode, an optional player-controlled co-op partner for the Ada campaign, and two new in game options: one that which allows the player to adjust the in-game camera and the other which allows the gamer to combine English language audio with subtitles in other languages.

Capcom are surely hoping that this new update will provide some solace for PS3 owners, but with no word as of yet when these new modes will be available to the PS3 community, another DLC outcry is surely on the cards.
