No Multiplayer For BioShock Infinite

If you were a fan of the multiplayer in BioShock 2 (do they exist?) then today carried some disappointing news as Ken Levine, Creative Director for BioShock Infinite at Irrational Games, confirmed there will be no multiplayer in the upcoming game. This shouldn’t come as a huge shock, while there were rumors of two multiplayer modes for the game; nothing had been officially announced thus far.

This follows the trend of the first game which also had no multiplayer content and after the mixed reviews of BioShock 2, which did feature multiplayer it was always safe to assume that experiment would not be carried over. Also, that game was not developed by Irrational Games like BioShock and the upcoming BioShock Infinite which again shows that it is something that perhaps Levine and his team have never wanted in a BioShock game.

Many will be disappointed the game will feature single player only, but look at it this way. With more resources to focus on the campaign, this will make the experience even better and hopefully help in attaining all the huge potential this game has. If this game turns out like BioShock then I think we all have a lot to look forward to, multiplayer or no multiplayer. Judging by the above trailer this could be one of the best games in an already packed 2013.

BioShock Infinite will be released on February 26th, 2013 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3. and PC.
