Pikmin 3 will be stressful and that is a good thing. Franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself has confirmed that Pikmin 3 will be more like the original Pikmin. The time limits of the original will be back to ensure a more challenging strategic approach than the last game, which was aimed at being more user-friendly and as less stressful as possible.
The direction that Pikmin 2 took was one that Mr. Miyamoto did not agree with completely since he had envisioned the series to be a bit more difficult. One of the first tasks that Miyamoto set out to accomplish with Pikmin 3 was the return of a more challenging strategic gameplay including the time limits and he made sure that the development team agreed with his vision.![]()
Speaking of vision, did you know that Hocotate, the planet featured in the Pikmin series, was inspired by Mr. Miyamoto’s very own garden! I however am disappointed with the lack of pipelines and mushrooms. In Spring 2013, both flowers and Pikmin will sprout when this challenging strategic experience blooms exclusively on the Wii U.
