Pikmin 3 will be stressful and that is a good thing. Franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself has confirmed that Pikmin 3 will be more like the original Pikmin. The time limits of the original will be back to ensure a more challenging strategic approach than the last game, which was aimed at being more user-friendly and as less stressful as possible.
The direction that Pikmin 2 took was one that Mr. Miyamoto did not agree with completely since he had envisioned the series to be a bit more difficult. One of the first tasks that Miyamoto set out to accomplish with Pikmin 3 was the return of a more challenging strategic gameplay including the time limits and he made sure that the development team agreed with his vision.
Speaking of vision, did you know that Hocotate, the planet featured in the Pikmin series, was inspired by Mr. Miyamoto’s very own garden! I however am disappointed with the lack of pipelines and mushrooms. In Spring 2013, both flowers and Pikmin will sprout when this challenging strategic experience blooms exclusively on the Wii U.
