Powers FBI Announced

Coming in July, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming will launch the latest series of Powers, titled Powers FBI.

What this title change means seems obvious. Bendis and Oeming will transfer the focus of Powers from the local police level up to the federal law enforcement level. It’s a move that actually makes quite a lot of sense. They’ve been at these stories for quite awhile now, and just how many huge superhero-related crimes can you believably have set in the same city? I’d say they’ve about hit their limit.

Powers FBI Announced
Anyone who has been reading the latest volume of Powers -- and can remember what’s happening in it with the long delays between issues -- can probably see how this change could easily come about. One main character, Deena Pilgrim, is already a special agent in the FBI. It has already been made clear that she will be starring in Powers FBI.

As for Christian Walker, it takes no stretch of the imagination to see him joining her. Considering how intensely Internal Affairs seems to be after him, it takes more stretching of the imagination to see him remaining a cop for much longer.
