‘Prometheus’ Sequel finds a new writer

Last year Prometheus was marketed as an event of a movie, but left audiences divided. Much of the blame was laid at the feet of writer Damon Lindelof and he has left the series. But Prometheus finished on an open ended note and 20th Century Fox has found a new writer to continue the series, Jack Paglen.

Variety broke the news about Paglen writing the Prometheus sequel. Paglen is a new writer and his only credit to date is Transcendence, Wally Pfister’s (Christopher Nolan’s regular cinematographer) directional debut.

Prometheus 2
will be produced by Scott Free with Sir Ridley Scott likely to return as director. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are expected to reprise their roles. There is no word yet what the plot for the movie is yet and if the marketing candidate for the original Prometheus is anything to go by it will most likely be kept under wraps.

Transcendence is currently filming, starring Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman and Rebecca Hall. It is set for April 18, 2014 release date.
