Q.U.B.E. Coming to PCs Before the End of the Year

Console gamers have seen the last hurrah for 2011 in terms of new games, but the PC scene can still look forward to several new games in this final month like Star Wars: TOR and Trine 2.  Another PC game whose release date was just confirmed is Q.U.B.E. a debut title by indie developers Toxic Games.

Q.U.B.E. is a first person physics/ puzzle game that runs on the Unreal Engine.  The titular acronym stands for Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion, and players will need to create (Or "extrude") cubes in the environment to solve puzzles and pass through a series of levels set inside sterile white test chambers.  It seems more than a bit inspired by the Portal series, but that's not a bad thing.  We've seen other successful Portal-esque FPS Puzzle Platformers running on the Unreal Engine, like The Ball.

Q.U.B.E. will come out on December 16th, anc can be bought on Steam. There will be a Mac version on the market shortly thereafter.  You can it in action with the trailer below.
