Scooby-Doo finds a new mystery

"ZOINKS! THERE ARE SOME SPOOKY MYSTERIES BREWINGAS KIDS HELP THEIR FAVOURITE SCOOBY-DOO CHARACTERS SOLVE THE CASES"

Apparently they're still making Scooby Doo games and "Scooby Doo! And The Spooky Swamp" is the next one.

Developed by Torus Games, a small independent developer in Australia, Scooby Doo! And The Spooky Swamp will be released alongside the upcoming animated Scooby-Doo film (Direct to DVD?), Scooby Doo! Camp Scare, and will "expand the Scooby-Doo franchise with more of the mystery and exploration that video game fans have come to adore,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment." From my reading of the press release, the game seems to be a puzzle/adventure title.

You know the game really isn't expected to be too well received when you're only referring to people who play the game as kids. Example: "Kids and their friends can travel beyond the swamp," "All new brain-teasing puzzles, enemies and epic boss battles are sure to keep kids challenged and mystified in this classic caper adventure," and "For the first time, kids play as any of the Mystery, Inc. characters." The game does not seem to be directed to adults whatsoever, then again, it's a Scooby Doo game.

While it may not be great for adults, it could be a good pick-up for a kid. Also, seeing as the game features drop-in, drop-out two player co-op, you could hop in on the action yourself.

Scooby Doo! And The Spooky Swamp is slated for autumn 2010, for the Wii, DS, and PS2.
