Shane Black hired to direct ‘Predator’ Reboot
The 1987
Predator is a highly regarded action/sci-fi movie and considered one of the Arnold Schwarzenegger and spanned into two sequels and two movie encounters with the Xenomorphs from the
Alien series.
The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that 20th Century Fox want to reboot the series and hired Shane Black to direct.
Black has two directional credits, the cult hit
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and superhero movie
Iron Man 3. But he is best known as a writer, being involved in movies like The
Lethal Weapon series and
The Long Kiss Goodnight. Black is set to write a treatment with
Monster Squad writer/director Fred Dekker taking on the scripting duties afterwards.
John Davis who produced the original movie is also producing the reboot with Fox executive Matt Reilly and Davis Entertainment's Ira Napoliello also overseeing the project.
This will not be the first time Black has been involved with
Predator franchise: he had a minor role in the original movie and did uncredited re-write work.
