Shipping in Nov’ from MoonStone – Part 1
Coming to us from Moonstone Books is their November releases! We've included a synopsis of each title and these books will more than likely be on sale in October because that's how comics work!
First up is North Guard #1
Years ago, during the Golden Age of Comics, there was a group of colorful heroes who fought the good fight, stomped the bad criminals, and wiped out the really evil Nazis, far from the eyes of American comic fans, up in the frozen North of Canada. With stars like Johnny Canuck, Freelance, Commander Steele, Ghost Woman, Purple Rider and the Red Rogue, (amongst so many others),-the comic books of the wartime CANADIAN WHITES are considered by knowledgeable fans to be amongst the best created anywhere in the golden age. But these stories have never seen print in the United States, and the characters have rarely been seen outside of Canada.
Moonstone's ALL-CANADIAN creative team tells all-new, full length stories, updating these classic characters for the 21st Century, complete with added, never before seen reprints of classic tales from the Golden Age for a punch filled package of epic comic adventure.
Our main story takes place in the middle of the 21st Century, when international competition for dwindling water and power resources have led the world to the brink of war. A mad Russian physicist attempts to impose his own peace on the belligerent nations, and sets off a device meant to disarm all the radioactive material on Earth.
It was supposed to work all at once, no more nuclear devices, peace for all time.
But it DIDN'T work that way, and instead it plunges most of the planet into a permanent and mysterious blackout. A new, electricity-free Dark Age, from which there seems to be no escape.
All except for a one long stretch of North America -- a hundred miles wide and three thousand miles long -- through Alaska, across Canada, and down to Detroit through to New York City -- the power is still working and the lights are still on. And the Red Rogue's device that set all this in motion, seems to have given the locals super-powers.
Next we have Zombies vs Cheerleaders #2 which looks like a fun title.
Brandon Jerwa (Battlestar Galactica, GI Joe) brings us a hilarious tale of what happens when the last zombie and the last cheerleader alive have to co-exist. Plus, two other wicked stories. Covers by Daniel Campos, Pasquale Qualano, Joe Pekar, and Ben Tan. The back cover is sketch friendly!
And lastly for this chunk of releases: Black Bat Double Shot: Black Death #2
An army of junkies threatens the projects and only Black Bat has the fix they need.
Meanwhile, Death Angel investigates what would turn a man from spurned lover to homicidal spree killer.
Before the caped crusader patrolled the streets, before horn head prowled the back alleys, the original dark avenger hunted evil men. The Black Bat is back and hell's coming with him!
A Moonstone "return of the originals event!"
