Signings and Toys – Comic Con International

Comic con, the biggest convention of the year where  for four days you get all the exclusive news from movies, tv shows, and video games.  But most importantly you get all the latest news from comic book publishers in the industry.  Comic con is also about the main floor.  Ahh!! Yes.  The Main Floor where costumed people roam free, comics can be found cheap and dealers have good deals on amazing action figures.  But most importantly the main floor is where you go to find exclusive toys that the convention offers or that special autograph from your favorite movie/TV star.  Comic con can be a very fun experience if planned correctly.  For this article I will give you a couple of tips of what to expect when going to get an autograph from a star or if you plan to get an exclusive toy from the event.

Then there is the comic book signings these lines tend to be shorter than the lines for autographs or for toys.  The only problem about these lines is that usually there are a lot of people that don’t know the writer or there are people that do know the writer and will generally try to squeeze the most he can out of them.  This person will be there with a stack about 10 to 20 books for the writer to sign, which will make you a little annoyed.  So be polite and just bring one maybe two  books for them to sign.  Remember there are other people there to see them, and by limiting your signing to a few books it helps the creator out by not straining their hand.

For the main exclusive toys, be aware that these are limited and that you might want to get those as soon as they become available.  If you wait till Sunday, thinking that they won’t sell out of them then you will be in for a surprise.   If the exclusive toys are not your thing, then the regular booths are always a great way to get free stuff from the convention.    Most of the booths from comic publishers to movie companies give away free promos.  Remember, freebies at the convention is a first come first serve deal so don’t be afraid to get in there and get your share of loot.

Well there are you’re basic tips for getting your favorite stars signature, or cool items from the convention. Just remember to have a lot of fun because that is what Comic con is about: Having fun, meeting cool people, and see your favorite creators.

Is this the line for the green lantern toy? No this is the line for the Cobra Commander helmet.  Dang. Follow Neil @NYRodriguez
