Some awesome news today for owners of Microsofts Xbox 360 as they unveiled 10 new great apps for their flagship console. A popular inclusion is the highly regarded Skydrive. Microsoft have now made it easier than ever to be able to access your photos and documents via skydive thanks to the new app. The Skydrive app also allows you to use Kinect voice and gestures so you can control it with motion, which seems kind of unnecessary but also quite intriguing.
The app means you can now access you files through your windows mobile device, web browser, and now through your Xbox 360 console.
You can find the new SkyDrive and the other nine new apps in the Xbox Live apps area from your consoles home page where it should pop up during use in the interface, However you'll need Gold membership on Xbox Live so it doesn't exactly come free.
According to Major Nelson, the other apps that are out today are:
ARTE (Germany, France) where users can watch an exciting mix of content from the Cultural TV station including documentaries, concerts and movies. CinemaNow (Expanding to Canada) which is an Authenticated Video on Demand (AVOD) application providing customers with access to TV and Movie content previously purchased on CinemaNow.com. CNET (United States, Canada) which offers all the product reviews, technology shows and event coverage you love, now on Xbox LIVE. Karaoke (All LIVE regions, excluding Japan and United Arab Emirates) that provides access to more than 8,000 songs from the latest hits to the oldies but goodies, available on Xbox LIVE. Your avatar will go on stage and sing with a full complement of stage props and back band. Maxim (United States) which delivers beautiful women, cool gear and funny videos – to Xbox 360! Napster (Germany, United Kingdom) that with your Xbox and Napster Unlimited plus Mobile, you can play millions of songs instantly. Listen to millions of songs in various genres, play as much as you want, and enjoy hours of expertly programmed music. SPORT1 (Austria, Germany) which provides Video-Sport-News, Livescores, Livestreams of popular sport events and access to Pay-TV Sports channel SPORT1+. VEVO (Expanding to Spain, Italy & France) that has over 45,000 videos by 11,000 artists, VEVO is the world’s leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform. Stream live concerts, watch exclusive programming and queue up all your favorite videos, and lastly Zattoo (Germany) that gives you access to free Live TV across 55 channels and an Electronic Program Guide. HiQ accounts feature quick, ad-free channel switches and higher quality streams (including HD), starting at 3.75 EUR per month.
These are all available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace starting today, but may take a couple of days to roll out worldwide.
