Sonic the Hedgehog is speeding to the Silver Screen

Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most well known video game characters in history, being Sega's mascot since 1991 and has made over $1 Billion over his 23 years. Now The Hollywood Reporter has gotten word that Sony and Sega are planning a movie adaptation of the Blue Blur. The movie is set to be produced by Neal Moritz, the founder  the Original Film production company and his credits include The Fast and the Furious and the 21 Jump Street franchises. Writers Evan Susser and Van Robichaux from the comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade and Japanese production company Marza Animation Planet are involved. The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is being planned as a CGI/live-action hybrid: that is prospect that will send a shiver down any film lover's spine. Let's hope they don't repeat Sonic 06. sonic boom still Sonic has appeared in 28 games, including classics like Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic Adventure and there have been many spin-off games. He has also appeared in comics, holding the world record for the longest comic book series based on a video game and there have been many cartoons about the character, from the humor based The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog to the dark and serious "SatAM" series which is still loved to this day. Sonic is set to appear in a reboot known as Sonic Boom! which features him and his buddies getting a redesign and set to appear in a new game and cartoon series.
