Sony announces Tokyo Jungle

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu (Via kotaku) has unveiled a Sony Computer Entertainment game called Tokyo Jungle.

This completely mad sounding title is set in Japan in the near future, where apparently the city has become completed over run by wild animals. It is meant to be a post-apocalyptic type landscape where mankind has all but vanished and the animals are left to have the run of the abandoned city. The array of animals in the game seems varied and oddly eclectic and includes: lions, tigers, elephants, crocodiles, cheetahs, porcupines, chickens, ostriches.

It is being developed by the PlayStation C.A.M.P. team (Which stands for: Create, Audition, Mash up, Project!) and will be using realistic looking animals models which the player controls and will use to fight against other animals.

Although there is not much more information available yet it definitely looks like it’s worth keeping an eye on.
