Welcome to the Steam Sales Report, Player Affinity PC's weekly feature on the top 10 selling Steam games. This feature comes up every Friday, with sales recorded at 3:00 PM. There's no shortage of Fall releases and Steam mainstays this week, which is a far cry from last week which saw the developer id's best games at the top. With the Q3-Q4 game madness, new games are starting to come in to the top 10, except for the the top spot again. Take a look:
9) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack - $14.99
10) Counter-Strike: Source for PC and Mac - $19.99
Deals always will take the top spot on Steam, which is a given. But when will a game be so popular it sells at the top even without a special? Maybe in January when all the Christmas specials are over and people are trying to catch up with the year. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. deal does give newcomers a great way to get into the series, though, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. could definitely use a little more appreciation. Mafia II is doing well, with being in the top 5 for nearly every week so far of Steam Sales Report. Kane and Lynch 2 is selling well on its first week, which does go against my previous prediction that it would utterly fail on the PC, but all the game needed for good sales was a 65 score on Metacritic, which is sad to say the least. I still think it won't stay in that top 10 for much longer, because on its opening week it is not the top, which means it won't stay for much longer. Everything else is stuff we've seen before, which is to be expected during the cusp of Fall.
