Steam Wallets Come to GameStop

Valve’s wildly popular digital distribution storefront has left digital shelves today and hit physical ones with the addition of Steam Wallets on over 4,400 GameStop store shelves nationwide. These gift card-like Steam Wallets come in $50 and $20 variations.

GameStop’s GM of Digital Distribution said “This gives even more options to customers now that they can put money in their Steam Wallet using cash, gift cards or trade credits through our convenient neighborhood locations.”

The ability to pay cash for Steam credits is a fantastic idea considering the number of people who either don’t have a credit card or access to one. This is a mutually beneficial partnership between the storefront retailer and the digital retailer. The flexibility in game purchase options is very gamer friendly as well. Win, Win, Win it would seem.
