Supergirl Adds Buffy Alum As Guest Star

CBS's surprise superhero hit of the fall, Supergirl, will be adding a character from the comics in an upcoming episode this season. In an exclusive interview with The Mary Sue, Warner Bros. Television announced that Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Emma Caulfield will be a guest star on Supergirl. Caulfield was excited to share the news on her official Twitter profile. Caulfield is best known in the geek world as Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the "Patron Saint of the Women Scorned" who lived for a thousand years as a vengeance demon before becoming human again. According to the character description for the TV series, Chase will be an FBI agent instead. However, the TV show's description lists an important similarity to the original character from the DC Universe. According to the description from the production team, Cameron Chase dedicated her life to law enforcement after her father's violent murder. In the comics, Chase's father is the Acro-Bat, a costumed superhero who was murdered by the villain Doctor Trap. The exclusive report from The Mary Sue didn't say which episode Caulfield will appear in, or if she'll be in more than one episode.
