Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again are easily two of the most anticipated features of the next several years. He already has a slew of actors onboard for his take on the beloved J.R.R. Tolkien, and two more actors just signed on yesterday.
Benedict Cumberbatch (the upcoming War Horse) and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) will star in the film as Smaug, the dragon and Bard the Bowman, respectively. Cumberbatch will play Smaug through motion-capture and voice.
Deadline Hollywood relays that Evans’ role as Bard will be more important in "There and Back Again" than he will be in "An Unexpected Journey.” The site also points out Cumberbatch is also voicing Necromancer.
