Tomb Raider, Deus Ex Developers Working on Avengers Project

Calling All Avengers! After years of working with several publishers like Activision and Capcom, Marvel is adding another new partnership to its line-up. Marvel has announced a new deal with Square-Enix to create triple-A Marvel titles, starting with The Avengers. Along with the announcement, Marvel and Square has released a trailer showing off some familiar images. avengers_image1 The teaser begins showing off the developers for the project, with logos for Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider) and Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex: Mankind Divided). The trailer is fully narrated by an unknown character, explaining how the Avengers need to reassemble. Shots of Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s gauntlet, Banner’s glasses, and Captain America’s shield are in full display. This teaser shows very little, but these strong images imply Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America making an appearance. With no gameplay shown, it’s hard to say what kind of game The Avengers will end up being. Knowing Square-Enix, the developers will go all out on quality, both graphically and gameplay wise. As a result, seeing Crystal Dynamics and Eidos work with Marvel is exciting for fans of the comics and films. avengers_image2 Finally, Square-Enix says we can expect more info regarding the projects, including The Avengers, in 2018.
