Trailer for Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’ Spreads

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is without a doubt one of the year’s most anticipated genre titles. It is set to arrive in theaters this September, with a possible bow at the Venice Film Festival.

The trailer is so intense it may make you never want to touch a doorknob or have contact with the outside world ever again. If you've got any form of OCD, seeing this movie will probably put you in therapy for life. The story seems to center on something akin to a powerful bird flu hitting humans in rapid succession, even resulting in one of the main actors dying — in the trailer.

With so many movies about worldwide zombie pandemics, Contagion plays it straight it seems, trying to imagine what it would really look like and how the government would respond if some deadly disease could spread by mere touch. As far as the specific story within that premise that the film follows — that remains to be seen.

Contagion features Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet with supporting performances from Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, and Laurence Fishburne.

It looks like a great thriller that’ll keep you guessing until the end; the amazing actors aligned just makes it that much more exciting.

Do you have Contagion fever yet?
