Turn off the Lights

Two more potential love interests for Spidey

Breakthrough actresses Emma Stone and Mia Wasikowska are among the new additions to the list of actresses who might star alongside Andrew Garfield in Marc Webb’s Spider-man reboot. Actresses who were already in contention for the role are Lily Collins (The Blind Side), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later), and Emma Roberts (the upcoming film Scream 4).

According to The Playlist, both Stone and Wasikowska have met with Sony for the part, so which one of these ladies is most likely to get it?

Wasikowska has numerous projects lined up already and Stone will likely follow suit in the near future, so I’m not too sure that either actress will be swinging mid-air alongside Spidey. If I had to guess at which actress gets to play the love interest, I’d have to say Collins or Palmer. Both were substantial in their biggest roles to date and have potential to be breakout stars when this film hits theaters.

Given the tentative release date of July 3, 2012, which is roughly two years from now, Sony and Webb still have a good amount of time to deliberate over which actress is right for the role.

Stone most recently lit up the screen with the teen comedy/satire Easy A, whereas Wasikowska made an impression on audiences with her titular role in Alice in Wonderland and wowed critics in The Kids Are All Right earlier this year.
