Wolfenstein: The New Order Will Be Single Player Only

Yesterday, Betheseda surprised a lot of people by announcing a new title in the long-running Wolfenstein series. Wolfenstein: The New Order is currently slated for a Q4 2013 release, on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and next gen platforms. The game will be using the ID Tech 5 engine, and will push things a little further into the future, from World War 2 into what seems like the 60s.

Now the news comes today from developer Machinegun Games that this new iteration will not feature any multiplayer whatsoever. I come off of this with mixed feelings as while Return to Castle Wolfenstein featured a fantastic multiplayer component, games like this have since failed to capture any sort of audience, thanks to the Call fo Duty franchise overtaking literally all of FPS multiplayer gaming.

More is expected to be unveiled surrounding the game tomorrow and Friday.
