World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Announced

It's been two years since the last expansion for Blizzard's massively successful MMORPG, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was announced. Last weekend during Blizzcon, their yearly convention, they announced the next expansion for the game, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. You can check out the trailer below:

Mists of Pandaria will allow players to play as the Pandaren, a neutral race of Panda-People-Things (originally included in Warcraft 3 as an April Fools joke) and travel to their homeland of Pandaria. The expansion is also set to add a new Monk class and raise the game's level cap from 85 to 90. Mists of Pandaria is also going to add a new pet battling system (described as being similar to Pokemon), new PVE scenarios and completely revamp the game's talent system.

Reactions from players to this expansion have been mixed. Some skeptics of the new expansion are claiming that this is WoW jumping the shark while others are excited to explore the new zones that the expansion will offer. It's important to remember that WoW's playerbase is infamously volatile, so we'll have to see how the expansion looks as more information is released. Personally, the announcement doesn't excite me as much as previous expansions. Have an opinion? Sound off in the comments below.
