“X-Men First Class” ensemble photo leaked online

The Daily Blam has the first official, albeit leaked, image of the ensemble to appear in Matthew Vaughn’s (Kick-Ass, Layer Cake) upcoming X-Men First Class.  Produced by Bryan Singer (director of the first two films) the official synopsis is as follows:

X-Men First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.”

From left to right, we have Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Zoe Kravitz as Angel, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and last, but certainly not least, James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier.

While the picture is smaller and not completely revealing of the crew’s entire getup, there’s plenty to take away: Emma Frost fanboys rejoice, as clearly her outfit will be ... comfortable. Everyone else seems to be styling black and yellow, harkening not only the 1960s feel (when the film will take place), but the familiar styles of Jack Kirby’s classic designs. Also, and this could just be one lone writer’s opinion, but Michael Fassbender seems to be a better than anticipated looking version of a young Magneto, played to a tee by Ian McKellen in the original "X-Men" trilogy.

As the photo is technically a leak, expect Fox to put out an official, much higher resolution pic of the ensemble soon, perhaps even sooner than expected now that this promotional still is out. In the meantime, you take what you can get. X-Men First Class is scheduled for a release on June 3.
