Ryan Murphy Teases American Horror Story Season 4 Setting

As the latest season of American Horror Story quickly approaches its finale, the time has once again come for showrunner Ryan Murphy to begin dropping hints regarding the setting of the next installment in the immensely popular anthology series.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy dropped his first hint: the upcoming fourth season of the hit FX series will be “a period piece” set in the 1950s. Murphy also hinted that series star Jessica Lange (who recently announced that the fourth season of American Horror Story will be her last) has “already begun practicing her German accent.”

So, German accents and the 1950s? There is certainly quite a bit to mine from that particular period in American history, but most fan speculation is leaning toward a storyline dealing with an entirely different witch hunt – the Red Scare. As for where the German accent comes into play, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from Murphy on the topic in the coming weeks.
