DayZ Developer “Angry” Over WarZ

Dean "Rocket" Hall who is the creator of DayZ is very much in the media limelight when it comes to DayZ and is often popping up on Twitter, Reddit, and the DayZ blog with news, info and updates. He also regularly answers questions about the development of the DayZ standalone that was scheduled for release in late 2012, as well as the status of the mod. After getting into a discussion with some users on Reddit about the recently released WarZ game Hall made some comments about how it has affected him.

He said, "I am angry about WarZ. I'm very angry. I'm quite hurt personally because anyone can see how similar the words are, and while the average gamer knows the difference individual people don't. I've had family members/close friends mistake the difference and confront me about what they believed was unethical behavior they thought I was making. I really don't think anyone can understand just quite how exasperated that can make you feel when you've gambled everything on something, put your whole self and reputation on the line. So it hasn't made my life very pleasant and I disagree entirely with the conduct and how consumers have been treated."

When it comes to "the conduct" of WarZ, Hall is most likely referring to the way the game was wrongly sold on Steam and the misleading sales pitch it also had on steam which lead to it being removed.
