Injustice: Gods Among Us Has a New Story Mode Trailer

Injustice: Gods Among Us looks crazy, that's for sure. Using the revamped engine from 2011's fantastic Mortal Kombat reboot, Injustice showcases some of the most popluar characters from the DC Universe, fighting each other. Sound familiar? While it kind of is. In 2008, Ed Boon and his team released a similar 3D fighter called Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. The difference here is that there is not a crossover between realms. Plus, Netherrealm Studios has been giving a lot of freedom with the characters, which makes the idea behind this game seem that much more crazy.

A new trailer was released today, showcasing some of the game's storyline. While details are coming more clear on the storyline, especially for those that pick up the comic book tie in to this game, it seems that Injustice: Gods Among Us might be that rare superhero fighting game that breaks the mold. I have to say if there is one genre of game that's really been reinvented this generation, it is fighting games. With 2011's excellent Mortal Kombat reboot, and last year's excellent Dead or Alive 5, 2013 is looking at a promising fighter with Injustice.

Rounding out the roster are the following characters: Bane, Batman, Catwoman, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Joker, Lex Luthor, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Also confirmed to appear, but not announced as if they are fighters or simply characters in cameo roles are Doomsday, Raven, Captain Marvel, and Hawkgirl.

Injustice: Gods Among Us comes out on April 16, 2013 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U.
