The Jetsons Join Other Hanna-Barbera DC Comics Titles

DC Comics announced during the Baltimore Diamond Retailer Summit that The Jetsons will be joining Wacky Racelands, The Flintstones, Scobby Doo Apocalypse, and Future Quest as part of DC Comics’ Hanna-Barbera lineup. The series will be written by Harley Quinn writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. There is no artist announced for the title yet, but Amanda Conner worked on the new designs for the characters that you can see below.

The Jetsons originally aired on ABC as a primetime animated television show, which aired from 1962-1963.  The show returned with new episodes from 1985-1987 as part of the Futuristic World of the Hanna-Barbera programming block. The Jetsons was a futuristic version of The Flintstones. It was a world of what Hanna-Barbera thought the future family would look like.

DC Comics’ Hanna-Barbera line are new takes on beloved animated television shows.  It should be interesting to see where Conner and Palmiotti take these iconic characters from the future.
