Giving us our best look yet at the entire cast in action, FX has released a full trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel ahead of its October 7 premiere.
The trailer, titled “Hallways,” offers brief looks at new and returning cast members like Angela Bassett, Cheyenne Jackson, Matt Bomer, and Kathy Bates. But the addition of Lady Gaga to the series is certainly not overlooked, with her character being the one the trailer closes on and the title card showing her name after “American Horror Story” before switching to “Hotel.”
EW recently discovered that Gaga’s Countess maintains her youth by feeding on blood, but not only does she not have fangs (she kills with a Gaga-esque chainmail glove), she shouldn’t really be classified as a vampire. American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy prefers the idea that she’s afflicted with an “ancient blood virus” akin to “hemophilia” and adds that “there’s no capes and fangs” in order to make his distinction clearer. Her lovers, Bomer’s Donovan and Finn Wittrock’s Tristan, are also infected with this virus, the origins of which will be explored “around the middle of the season,” according to Murphy.
American Horror Story: Hotel is the fifth installment in the anthology series that began with Murder House in 2011.
