Netflix Announces Premiere Date for New Original Series and ‘Arrested Development’ News

Netflix is starting to really get its foot in the door when it comes to Original Series. On January 9th, the popular video rental and streaming site announced the premiere date for one of its new Original Series "Hemlock Grove" and more details on the new season of "Arrested Development", which is exclusively premiering on the site.

"Hemlock Grove" is based on the 2012 Horror/Thriller novel that tells the story of two boys named Peter and Roman in the town of Hemlock Grove who are suspected of murdering a young girl. One is thought by many to be a werewolf and the other is the son of the richest people in town. The two combine forces to find out who the real killer is. The series is executive produced by Eli Roth, who also directed the pilot episode. Actors Famke Janssen ("X-Men"), Lili Taylor ("Six Feet Under"), and Dougray Scott ("Ever After") round out the cast. The series is set to premiere all episodes at once on April 19th.

Now here is the news all comedy fans have been waiting for. The new season of cult comedy favorite "Arrested Devleopment" has a premiere date! Sort of. Netflix has announced that the episodes will premiere exclusivley on its streming service in May 2013. Series Creator Mitchell Hurwitz has also announced that the 14 new episodes will take on a different format than the orignal 3 seasons aired on Fox. Each episode will focus on one character with the other characters playing supporting roles, with all of their storylines eventually interweaving. There is also rumor that this new season will serve as a prequel to an "Arrested Development" film, which is something else fans have been waiting for. Hopefully they get their wish.

"Hemlock Grove" and "Arrested Development" will join the already running Netflix Original Series "Lilyhammer" and "House of Cards" starring Kevin Spacey that is set to premiere in February.
