Capcom Announces Darkstalkers Resurrection

Fresh off Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, Capcom and Iron Galaxy announced Darkstalkers Resurrection today, which features Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3 in one package. It is currently slated to be released early 2013 on Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade for $15 (1200 Microsoft Points). The games included in this package are the second and third games of the franchise respectively, but with they're coming back with HD visuals and various filters seen in past downloadable releases by Capcom.

If you're familiar with Iron Galaxy's work on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, expect the same features those games had in Darkstalkers Resurrection such as GGPO-like online play, lobbies, spectator mode, in-game achievements, a vault full of unlockable art, and YouTube uploads. There is also a trials mode that is similar to other Capcom fighting games as well as a new tutorial to get first time players playing this franchise started. Capcom re-releasing these Darkstalkers games in HD will surely test the waters for a potential sequel on the current or next generation of consoles. If this does well, we could likely see a new Darkstalkers game in the works sometime soon. If you want to see these games in action, it will be on Capcom Unity's New York Comic-Con stream for the next couple of days. The announcement trailer is below as Darkstalkers Resurrection comes out early next year for Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
