David Ayer releases first picture of Jared Leto as The Joker

Taking on the role of The Joker after Heath Ledger was always going to be a Herculean challenge who to follow him as Batman's nemesis. Oscar-winner Jared Leto (Requiem for a Dream

) is going to be the Clown Prince of Crime in Warner Brothers' adaptation Suicide Squad
as a part of the DC Cinematic Universe. Now writer/director David Ayer has tweeted
the first picture of Leto as The Joker.
As you can see the picture is replicating the iconic cover of Alan Moore's The Killing Joke
, one of the most famous Joker stories, telling the closest thing to an origins story and was used as an influence for The Dark Knight
has assembled an all-star cast, with Will Smith, Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street

of the whole as they go through a read-through of the script.
