While Deep Silver and Techland's Dead Island was a successful game, both from a sales and critical perspective, most people remember the game from its first CGI trailer. It was one of the most emotional trailers ever for a video game even though the final version didn't match up the tone exactly. Techland are back at it again with the sequel, subtitled Riptide, with a new CGI trailer to hopefully recapture the magic the first game's debut trailer had in terms of making an impactful debut.
The trailer below features a happy couple enjoying a nice vacation on a boat, but you can probably guess what happens next. Riptide takes place a short time after the events of the original's ending and hopes to fix some of its flaws. It also introduces new characters into the world even though you can import a character from the first game to this sequel. Dead Island: Riptide comes out sometime next year for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
