E3 2014: Capcom’s Deep Down Makes an Appearance After All
Capcom's presence at E3 2O14 is a bit disappointing even with the new and wacky
Dead Rising 3 DLC,
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and other games. Their big game missing this year and not on the lineup is
Deep Down, which was revealed way back at the initial Playstation 4 reveal last year. Turns out that
Deep Down did show up at E3 with a new trailer, which you can see below.
I was a little surprised that this game didn't get mentioned at the Sony press conference, but I guess Sony is saving it for future events like Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show later this summer. This mashup of
Dragon's Dogma and
Dark Souls still looks pretty amazing, but it makes you wonder if the game was in trouble because not much has been talked about it in a while like most of the other big Japanese games coming out on the new consoles.
Capcom has apologized for the lack of new information for
Deep Down and hopefully we'll see more of it in the future. They're still staying that the Japanese release is the number one priority than bringing it to other regions, mainly the US and Europe. In addition, not much as been said about the free to play mechanics lately that were previously mentioned a while back.
Deep Down still has no slated release window only for the Playstation 4.
