Fox Set to Air New M. Night Shyamalan Event Series

M. Night Shyamalan

Another new event series, in addition to the 24 reboot, is set to air on Fox during the 2014 season. The new series, called Wayward Pines, is written by Chad Hodge and directed by acclaimed film director M. Night Shyamalan. Matt Dillon has been cast in the lead role, which is based on a novel by Blake Crouch called Pines. The show appears to be an exciting thriller, and it is described as mind-bending and a show in which nothing is as it seems. The show focuses on Ethan Burke, a Secret Service agent, who arrives in a small town out in the country called Wayward Pines, Idaho in search of two missing federal agents.

Instead of finding answers, it seems that his investigation only turns up more questions. This is one of two event series projects Fox is developing this season. Hodge and Shyamalan are also the executive producers of the show. It will be interesting to see how M Night. Shyamalan's techniques will translate over to the medium of television. Additionally, with Matt Dillon's career centered on a number of successful films, he has yet to make the switch to television, and as a very versatile actor, fans of his films will certainly want to tune in for this event series as it sounds as exciting and action-packed as many of his films.
