Jonah Hill Joins Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

With a recent Oscar bid for Moneyball and the successful reboot of 21 Jump Street, one can see how far Jonah Hill has come along since making films such as Accepted. However, the actor isn’t finished proving himself just yet, as he will work with some of cinema’s finest talents yet again.

The actor will star in Martin Scorsese’s thriller The Wolf of Wall Street, based on the Jordan Belfort memoir of the same name. Deadline Hollywood reports that Hill will step into the role of Belfort’s close friend and business partner. Frequent Scorsese collaborator Leonardo DiCapriowill lead the film as Belfort. Terence Winter, who created the Emmy Award-winning series Boardwalk Empire, wrote the script.

“Wolf” accounts for the ups and downs of Belfort’s Wall Street career, which include a troubled personal life and a lifestyle of hard partying. Scorsese will begin shooting the memoir-based thriller in New York this August, so expect more key casting announcements in the next few months.

Hill’s next big-screen appearance will be in the sci-fi comedy The Watch, which stars Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, on July 27.
