Fresh off SNK Playmore's announcement being renamed to just SNK again, they finally announced the release date for King of Fighters XIV. The latest in the long running series is coming out only to the Playstation 4 on August 23rd. They also have been putting out new trailers every week for a while now, but it's nice to see a release window pinned down along with more folks playing it last weekend at PAX East.
Ever since it's subpar debut at last year's Tokyo Game Show mainly because of the visuals, the game has seen incremental improvements to the graphics as the roster grows to over 50 characters. It is a who's who of the franchise along with newcomers and some guest stars from other SNK fighting games such as Nakoruru from Samurai Showdown. King of Fighters XIV is also shaping up to be a fully packaged game from the get go (sorry again Street Fighter V) with story modes, online play, online training and more.
Fighting game fans are been clamoring for the return of KOF because of how beloved XIII was after XII being lackluster. Despite the visuals still being not what to expect from the PS4, hopefully the gameplay makes up for it if SNK games are any indication throughout the years. King of Fighters XIV comes out on August 23rd only for the Playstation 4.
