Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

At the ‘Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Event’ in Japan, Konami showed off its newest title in the Metal Gear Solid franchise: Ground Zeroes. The announcement of the game after Konami showed off its newest engine called ‘Fox Engine’, that was apparently running a tech demo of footage from the game. Not only for the current generation of consoles, Fox Engine will also be marketed for Cloud gaming and next gen consoles, as well.


Reportedly, the demo showing Konami’s new engine had Snake performing some of his most classic stealth techniques and maneuvers, such as avoiding searchlights, killing guards, and roaming through an open-world map. What is being marketed behind “Ground Zeroes” is that it is a “Game without Game Over”—in other words, when a player is discovered, the game doesn’t end. “Ground Zeroes” will evolve the seatlth genre by allowing players a way to escape from certain situations (i.e., radio for support).
