Michelle Monaghan Cast In Ryan Murphy’s Open

Michelle Monaghan is the latest cast member to be added to Ryan Murphy's new show. His pilot is set to premiere on HBO, a drama called Open. Murphy, well-known for his work in television, has been a part of a number of successful shows, including Glee, American Horror Story, and Nip/Tuck. The project will be co-written between Murphy and Lauren Gussis. The show is described as a modern exploration of human sexuality and relationships. Things get complicated between each of the main characters and their relationships are tested throughout the show.


Michelle Monaghan, cast as the female lead in the series, has previously been seen in several action films such as Source Code and Eagle Eye. She also appeared briefly on the show Boston Public. Monaghan will play Grace, a successful and recently engaged gynecologist. She is joining a cast of Scott Speedman, Anna Torv, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Wes Bentley. Scott Speedman will play her fiance. Anna Torv will play Windsor, a yoga instructor who has been in a long term relationship with Holly (Leigh). Things start to heat up when she meets Grace and feels an instant connection.


Monaghan is also set to co-star in a new limited series on HBO called True Detective. The show stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey and will premiere in January of 2014. Her upcoming feature films include Fort Bliss
 and Better Living Through Chemistry
