Ben Whishaw can look forward to a career breakthrough with the epic Cloud Atlas and James Bond flick Skyfall arriving before the end of the year. Even before he’s pervaded the mainstream, the British actor might already have his next big gig.
Variety reports that DreamWorks and Fox want Whishaw to star in Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse. Although an offer’s yet to be made, he’ll “play a hacker named Lurker” if he signs on for the sci-fi flick. Casting for the film is on a roll lately, as Anne Hathaway and Chris Hemsworth recently entered negotiations.
Fox will take care of releasing the film internationally; Disney will handle stateside distribution through Touchstone.
Robopocalypse will hit theaters on April 25, 2014.
