Rumor Has It: Marvel’s ‘Big Hero 6’ and ‘Iron Man 3’ Post-Credits Scene

Welcome to Rumor Has It, Player Affinity’s weekly roundup of highly buzzed-about movie rumors circulating throughout Tinseltown. On this week’s docket, we have rumors about Big Hero 6 and Iron Man 3.

Is Disney turning Marvel’s Big Hero 6 into a movie?

We’ve been talking quite a bit about movies like The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Thor 2, but what about lesser-known Marvel properties that will get their own films? For that matter, what about Disney tackling one of the comic book titan’s works?

Apparently the obscure property Big Hero 6 might get its own cinematic adaptation. Given how little people know of the comic, here’s some info about it via its page on Marvel’s official website:

“When the Japanese government wanted a team of state-sanctioned super-heroes at their disposal, a top-secret consortium of politicians and business entities known as the Giri was formed to recruit and train potential superhuman operatives for ‘Big Hero 6.’”

The Grid reports that Disney is making a film with the title Big Hero 6. It’s not difficult to figure that this rumored project focuses on the Marvel property. The blog Blue Sky Disney later stated that the Mouse House film will derive from the Marvel comic. However, the blog, by its own admission, “is not connected to or affiliated with The Walt Disney Company,” so take this with a grain of salt.

Will Ant-Man appear in Iron Man 3’s post-credits scene?

It’s practically common knowledge by now that each of Marvel’s films boasts a post-credits scene that teases its next cinematic endeavor. Although we still have to wait quite some time before Iron Man 3 hits theaters, we might already know something about its post-credits scene.

Film School Rejects caught wind of a rumor relayed on The Playlist’s podcast: Ant-Man will appear after Iron Man 3’s credits roll. Given that director Edgar Wright shot a test reel for the film already, it wouldn’t be difficult to surmise that he’s shooting – or may have already shot – some footage to tack at the end of Iron Man 3
