Square-Enix & Disney Officially Announce Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX has been only out for a month here at the states, but to no surprise, Square-Enix and Disney Interactive Studios have officially announced the next collection in the series at the D23 Japan Expo earlier today. After being teased in 1.5 HD ReMIX's bonus credits, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX contains the Final Mix versions of Kingdom Hearts II & the PSP iteration Birth by Sleep. The other addition to this collection is cutscenes from the DS game Re:Coded, similar to how 358/2 Days is handled in the last HD collection.

These games continue Sora, Donald, and Goofy's adventures along with the cast of characters introduced in Birth by Sleep. Kingdom Hearts III for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One are both still ways off, but 2.5 HD ReMIX's 2014 worldwide release only for the Playstation 3 will make the wait a bit easier to deal with for fans itching to replay these games again or the first time. The announcement trailer is available below to watch.

From seeing 1.5 HD ReMIX in action on streams the past month, it looked like Square-Enix did a great job with the collection and 2.5 looks to repeat that success next year. Is this collection good enough to keep your PS3s around a bit longer even with new consoles out next month? Let us know in the comments below.
