Super Smash Bros Wii U & Captain Toad’s Release Dates Announced
"November 21st is a big day for Nintendo fans"
While Nintendo fans have been enjoying the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros.
, they finally announced the release date of the highly announced Wii U version. The Wii U version now is slated for a November 21st alongside the launch of the Amiibo figures. This is also the same day Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
for the 3DS is coming out, so it is a pretty big day for Nintendo fans. Nintendo themselves have done this in the past where last year, Super Mario 3D World
and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
were both released on the same day.
The Amiibo figures that are launching alongside Super Smash Bros.
for the Wii U cost $12.99 each. The characters available for purchase are Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Samus, Kirby, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikachu, Villager, Yoshi, Peach and Marth. Another new batch of figures is slated for next month featuring Luigi, Zelda, Diddy Kong, Pit, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon.
Also coming out on November 21st are the new GameCube controllers and the adapter for the Wii U. The adapter alone costs $19.99 for those that just want to use your old controllers, the new ones with the Smash logo cost $29.99, and the bundle with the game, adapter, and one new controller will be $99.99.
That wasn't the only big Nintendo game that got their release date announced today. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
is still coming out this year, but will miss the Black Friday shopping rush. Captain Toad's solo debut is now slated to be released on December 5th for $39.99. The game will also have Amiibo support in the near future.
Also keep in mind that Super Smash Bros.
for the Wii U is coming out at the states first than Japan, which was the case for the 3DS version because of how popular the handheld is there. Speaking of the 3DS version, check back here later this week of our review of Super Smash Bros.
