TNT Set to Air Michael Bay Drama in 2014

Michael Bay is set to produce a new show on TNT that will premiere in 2014. The Last Ship will star Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy) as Captain Tom Chandler, who is described as a career Navy man. The show will focus on the crew of the Navy Destroyer U.S.S Nathan James, who are some of the only survivors of a global catastrophe that decimates the world's population. Captain Chandler is described as authoritative and decisive, but also fair and courageous. He is also respected and loved by the men and women under his command. The series will have a ten-episode season, and it is based on a novel of the same name by William Brinkley.

The Last Ship
will also star Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin and Tracy Midderdorf. Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane, who wrote the pilot, are also set to be executive producers along with Michael Bay. In a statement from TNT president Michael Wright, he urges people to watch and says that the series is "smart, fun television that takes you on a great ride," and also that it is full of action, suspense, tragedy and triumph. This series has all of the elements of a great drama, and with Michael Bay attached as a producer, the show will likely feel much like a Hollywood blockbuster and keep audiences on the edge of their seat.
