Available on June 25th, three days shy of the 90th year marking Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination in Sarajevo, Ubisoft will launch a comic styled adventure and puzzle game commemorating the lives ravaged by the First World War. Valiant Hearts: The Great War will release across the current and previous generation Xbox and Playstation consoles along with the PC platform through digital distribution.
Following five characters fictitious lives and a faithful companion canine, Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a macro scale love story intertwining the destines of Émile, Lucky Freddy, Anna, and George as their actions lead the German soldier Karl closer to his love. The adventure puzzle game will seek Karl reunited with his love should these four strangers, a French prisoner of war, an American volunteer, a Dutch nurse, and an English aviator survive the trenches, skies, and horrors of the first war that rendered Europe asunder.
A highly stylized side-scroller built on Ubisoft’s UbiArt Framework, Valiant Hearts casts the European forests, cities, and trenches from the 1910’s affected by the First World War into the perspective of a comic strip of graphical novel with a design objective focused on visual artistry and compelling story. Though the storyline of the game is fictitious in nature, the setting, scenery, events, and attire from Valiant Hearts are based upon and inspired by photographs, memorabilia, and correspondence from the First World War.
Endorsed by Mission Centenaire 14-18, a French commemorative program for the First World War, Valiant Hearts: The Great War will release across the current and previous generation Xbox and Playstation consoles and the PC platform through digital distribution June 25th priced at $14.99.
