Universal to remake the Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle, Timecop

Universal has just reported that they're attempting to remake Timecop, the 1994 sci-fi film that starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mia Sara. The original, directed by Peter Hyams, was based off of a Dark Horse comic book series, written by Mark Verheiden. The original film followed Van Damme as Walker, a security agent for TEC, the Time Enforcement Commission, a company created to regulate the misuse of time travel technology.

Along with Universal, Global Produce is the production company involved with the remake. As of right now, there is no one attached to the project and no script in place.
