Turn off the Lights

Vertigo Creators at Baltimore Comic-Con

The Baltimore Comic-Con news is pouring out like water from a fire hydrant now!  (It IS this weekend)  Don’t forget to check Player Affinity for the best Baltimore Comic-Con coverage as I’ll be attending it this weekend.  Expect great coverage during the weekend and the week following it.  Well, onto the news!

There are going to be some great Vertigo creators at the show this year!

Mark Buckingham, who you probably know from when he took over art duties on Fables with issue #6, earning him four Eisner Awards, including Best New Series in 2003, Best Serialized Story in 2005 and 2006, and Best Artist/Penciler/Inker in 2007.

Garth Ennis, famous for Hellblazer, Preacher, The Demon and Hitman, and The Boys.

Jeff Lemire who’s currently writing Justice Leage Dark and Animal Man for DC and Sweet Tooth for Vertigo.

Scott Snyder, who I am VERY excited is attending, is blowing the comics world away with his awesome work on American Vampire for Vertigo.  If you haven’t been reading it because of Vampire-fatigue - you have been making a huge mistake.  He’s also kicking butt on Batman and had a great run on Detective Comics before the New 52.

Chrissie Zullo, famous for Cinderella covers and interiors on Fables #100.

"We pride ourselves on being a show that caters to every type fan, including those fans of the mature reader books published by Vertigo," said Marc Nathan, show promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. "Comics are for both kids and adults, and these folks help produce some of the best books geared toward an older audience. We're delighted to have Mark, Garth, Jeff, Scott, and Chrissie attending the show this year!"
