Keeping up with the HD trend, it would make sense for SEGA to re-release the cult classic ToeJam & Earl and its sequel ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron. The games will reportedly be available to play on Playstation 3.
For fans of the original games, this is great, and unexpected, news. However, if you are not familiar with the ToeJam & Earl games, it may soon become one of your favorite classics. As an action game with elements of a dungeon crawler, many fell in love with the games as players had a different experience every time they turned it on. Two-player split-screen was a plus, as well. However, its sequel, Panic on Funkotron broke off from ToeJam & Earl's style and played more as a generic platformer. Siliconera adds that both games will be released as part of SEGA's "Vintage Collection". Other recently announced HD titles coming soon include NiGHTS Into Dreams and Sonic Adventure 2 HD, which was leaked on YouTube.
