Square-Enix Releases New Thief Gameplay Trailer

Returning to The City after an unknown time away, master thief Garrett finds himself at home in a city now foreign to him. Though The City has changed much since he last crept within it's shadows, so has the master thief changed in ways yet known.

Ten years after the third installment of the Thief series released, Square-Enix is set to release the fourth game of the franchise. Rather than following the chronology of the first three Thief titles and continuing where Deadly Shadows left master thief Garrett, Eidos Montreal has developed a reboot to the series simply tilting the new game Thief.

For fans of the series, many things that we know about the game already will seem foreign and more similar to Bethesda's Dishonored than the previous Thief titles. Aside from sharing a similar London-centric steampunk setting and a plagued city populace, the titles also share a game engine providing similar mechanics and graphical presentation from environmental effects to movement animations. None the less, the gameplay trailer which Square-Enix released on the Thief website yesterday only grants us a glimpse as to what we can expect once we find ourselves back in Garrett's boots.

Thief is scheduled to release Feburary 25, 2014 in North America with a February 28 worldwide release across the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PC platforms.
