The Canon – Great Games – GoldenEye

Goldeneye was developed by Rare Studios, which was, at the time, one of the best and more innovative game labs in the world. Rare have made some of the top games off all time (GoldenEye and it’s follow up Perfect Dark,) as well as some of the most ground-breaking (Donkey Kong Country, Blast Corps, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Banjo-Kazooie). They also are some of the most temperamental and notoriously behind schedule. They started as a second party developer for Nintendo, (in-house but not under the big N) and after birthing a legacy of great gaming, they became almost teenagerish, and split for Microsoft.

Lost – Ab Aeterno

Some may accuse me of being biased, of not being objective in reviewing episodes of shows I happen to like a lot. And I say to those people.. you’re probably right. However, I like to give shows benefits of the doubt and not be too harsh on them, especially when their worst episodes are better than a lot of the drivel on TV right now. Long story short: tonight’s episode of Lost was incredible, an hour or so of great acting, writing and (dare I say it) explaining. Well, maybe not full-blown explanations, but anybody who’s not happy by the scenes between Jacob and Richard, or Jacob and the Man in Black at the end, are crazy, and you probably won’t be happy with anything Lost has to offer from here on out. I was very happy with the way tonight’s episode played out, and while I think an episode this dense deserves more than a few hours of thought and consideration, I feel I should write it while it’s fresh in my mind.

Kevin Smith’s Green Hornet #1 – Review

There was a time in Kevin Smith’s career where he was a sought-after director on the fast track to being able to green light anything he wanted to make. At that time, he chose Green Hornet. Well, as things go in Hollywood, that didn’t happen. This left many people wondering what Kevin Smith’s version of Green Hornet would be like. Let me just say, it would not be like this comic book. The book itself is very good but hollow compared to other works by Kevin Smith. It just doesn’t have the “feel” his books normally have. Phil Hester (Darkness, Golly) contributes to the breakdowns of the book, which more than likely played a strong role.
